St Vincent de Paul in Glenmore Park

St Vincent de Paul have been operating for 12 months in Glenmore Park and were Commissioned as a Conference into the Society on the 22nd May.

Joanne Vallett, President, says “We are a team of 12 strong and growing. We run as any other Conference in the Nepean Region accepting crisis calls either via our Kingswood Call Centre or our church, Padre Pio Parish. We have a fantastic support base through our parishioners and also with Caroline Chisholm College and Bethany Catholic Primary.

Within our area, clients needs are varied due to many circumstances such as sickness, separated families, job loss, business venture failures, deaths, abuse etc. and we try our best to cater to all.

Wedding Congratulations

Congratulations to Eleanor Stepniewski and Peter Pearson who were married on the 16th April 2011 at St Thomas’ Anglican Church Mulgoa followed by a reception at the family home.
Eleanor is the 29 year old daughter of the Gazette editor Margaret and her husband Richard. She designed her own wedding dress with the antique lace and buttons taken from her mother’s wedding dress. the long veil was edged with matching lace. The two bridesmaids were her sister Amy and school fried Linda.
Eleanor is a primary school teacher, Peter works in a vegetable seed business and the live in Griffith, NSW. They shared their honeymoon at Jervis Bay with 20 family members, many who had travelled from overseas. It was a wonderful celebration with family and friends.

Glenmore Park High School news

Congratulations to Ebony Toth, Dux in 2010. Ebony has chosen to enrol in a Bachelor of Arts course at University of Western Sydney and plans to become a History teacher. Congratulations to all our 2010 HSC students. We are pleased with their efforts and wish them success in their future careers.
The school now has two Deputy Principals. Ms Gorick is responsible for Years 8, 10 and 12, and Mr Harvie who is responsible for Years 7, 9 and 11. Mr Harvie returns to Glenmore Park High School after working at Chifley College Senior Campus for three years.
Our year has been off to a busy start with many new enrolments, a Year 7 camp, school photographs and a swimming carnival. The students have brought a very positive attitude and enthusiasm to their studies in these early weeks. The challenge is to maintain this strong start throughout the remainder of the year.
The new five period day will allow more regular contact with staff and increase the flexibility in our curriculum.
New families can find out what is happening at school through our website or better still come to P&C nights to meet staff and other parents in a friendly and informal gathering.
Our Open Night for 2012 enrolments (8th March) is another opportunity to tour the school and speak to staff and students.
